The stock has a brass roundel inset stamped with the letter 'R'.It's loading & firing action works correctly. The butt plate strap is crisply stamped ' 190, CI, 3, C8'. The right side of the barrel is stamped '50.70', the left '9174'. The left plate is stamped '190' and the right with model detail '1867'. The top of the barrel is stamped '5070' with letters 'W.A' & 'PJF' either side. The barrel bands forward of the ladder sight are stamped "U" ( proof mark indicating the bands were originally assembled correctly as the barrel and the bands are tapered). Behind the trigger it is stamped with the Remington Arms Company Patent detail (illustrated). It is complete with sling swivels, cleaning rod & bayonet lug. The woodwork has only the minor bumps & bruises to be expected of a weapon of this age.
The woodwork and metal work is undamaged with nice patina throughout. It has a 36" barrel (53 1/2" overall) and has an external hammer and ladder rear sight.
